Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 30, 2026

MAKUAI ("we," "us," or "our") operates an AI-powered image and video generation platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our website, applications, and services (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information we collect

We may collect information that you provide directly, information collected automatically when you use the Services, and information from third parties as described below.

2. Account and authentication data

If you sign in with Google or another provider supported by our authentication partner (Supabase), we may receive and store identifiers such as your email address, name, profile image URL, and provider subject ID as made available by that provider. We use this information to create and secure your account, personalize your experience, and communicate with you about your account or the Services.

3. Uploaded content and generated outputs

When you upload images, prompts, or other media, and when you generate AI outputs (including videos), we process and store such content as needed to operate the Services—for example, to run generation jobs, display results in your dashboard or gallery, troubleshoot issues, and enforce our Terms of Use.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights and, where applicable, consents necessary for any content you upload or generate, as further described in our Terms of Use.

4. Payment and billing data

Purchases (such as credit packs) may be processed by third-party payment providers (for example, Lemon Squeezy or other processors we use). We do not store your full payment card numbers on our servers. We may receive transaction metadata such as order identifiers, product purchased, amount, and subscription or payment status as provided by the payment processor.

5. Cookies and similar technologies; analytics

We and our service providers may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies that are essential for the Services to function (for example, session and security cookies). Where we use analytics or performance tools, we aim to configure them to respect your privacy and to use aggregated or pseudonymous data where possible. You can control many cookies through your browser settings.

6. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Services;
  • Authenticate users and prevent fraud or abuse;
  • Process payments and fulfill orders;
  • Communicate with you about updates, security, and support;
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms and policies;
  • Analyze usage in aggregate to improve performance and user experience.

7. Third-party service providers

We rely on vendors for hosting, authentication, databases, storage, AI inference, payments, email, and other infrastructure. These providers process data on our behalf under contractual obligations and only as needed to perform their services. Examples may include Supabase (authentication and data storage), cloud hosting and storage providers, and payment processors. We do not sell your personal information.

8. Data retention

We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods may vary based on the type of data and legal requirements. You may request deletion of your account subject to applicable law and our ability to retain certain records where required.

9. Your responsibility for content

You represent that content you upload or generate through MAKUAI complies with applicable law and that you have obtained any necessary rights and consents. We may remove content or suspend access where we reasonably believe it violates our policies or the law.

10. Security

We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

The Services are not directed to individuals under 16 (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

12. International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your country of residence, including where our service providers operate. We take steps designed to ensure appropriate safeguards where required by applicable law.

13. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy, where permitted by law.
