Cookie Policy
Last updated: September 8, 2026
This page describes the cookies XMAKU sets, what they are for and how long they last. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes everything else we do with information.
1. What we set
We set only cookies that are strictly necessary to sign you in and keep you signed in. There is no consent banner on this site because there is nothing here to consent to — we set no cookie that requires it.
| Cookie | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
| sb-… | Signs you in and keeps you signed in. Set by Supabase, our authentication provider. This is a family rather than a single cookie: the session itself may be split across more than one, and signing in sets an additional short-lived cookie that is used only to complete that one sign-in. Without them you would be signed out on every page. | The sign-in cookie is short-lived. The session cookies persist between visits so you are not signed out each time, and are refreshed as you use the app; signing out clears them. Your browser’s cookie settings show the exact expiry for each one. |
These are first-party cookies — set by this site, readable only by this site.
2. What we do not set
We run no analytics, no advertising or retargeting pixels, no session-recording tools and no third-party trackers of any kind. No other company can set a cookie through this site.
3. Referral and campaign links
If you arrive through a referral or campaign link, we record on our servers that the link was visited, so the person who shared it can be credited. That record holds the link and campaign details, the page you landed on, your browser’s user-agent string, and — where we have a hashing key configured — a one-way hash of your IP address, never the address itself. It stores nothing on your device and cannot be used to recognise you on any other site.
Earlier versions of this site set two cookies for this, named xmaku_ref and xmaku_visitor_id, lasting thirty days. We stopped. Either one still on your device is no longer read by us and expires by itself; you can also clear it from your browser at any time.
4. Managing cookies
Every browser lets you view, block and delete cookies from its settings. Because the only cookies we set are the ones that sign you in, blocking them will prevent you from signing in — no other feature depends on them.
If we ever introduce a cookie that is not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent before setting it and give you a way to change your mind. No such cookie exists today, which is why no consent control appears on this site.
